North Korea launched their test missiles…, Finally!

Earlier this morning North Korea launched its much talked about test missiles. I have heard 5, 6, 7, and as many as 10 missiles, and one crashed into the Sea of Japan (wherever that is) seconds after it took off. From what it sounds like its a poor excuse of a show of power.

This is the supposed range of the missiles tested. They can attack Japan, but for what reason go only knows. They can hit China who they are allies with and fought with during the Korean war. The can hit Alaska which if they attempted the casualty rate might exceed 4 people total, and the majority of them would be people attracted to the heat from the explosion. Possibly Hawaii, but again who cares. And of course South Korea…, which they could of hit with a dysfunctional rocket they purchased from Acme.

I am not sure I completely understand this comic yet, (yeah they got comics on it already). Maybe if the date was different instead of 2007. Or maybe a Japanese person could explain this too me better. I don’t know I just don’t get it.
One of my favorite comments has to be the one from The Opinionater.
On Independence Day we once again showed off why it is good to be us. Today in a spectacular event we launched the Space Shuttle, a reusable space vehicle, successfully. In their bid to try to intimidate us, North Korea decided to launch their Taepodong-2 missile today as well. That did not go so well did it Kim?

KBS entitles their article “N.Korea Urged to Take Responsibility“. Um…, who said they were denying it? Or do they want N.K. to jump up and down saying “We did it, we did it”?
The Asia Times actually went the extra mile and explained everything there is to know about these kind of missiles and there capabilities.
After all of this it seems that South Korea is going to upgrade its defense, at a cost of $111 million. The current technology is some 40 years old and now they think it’s a good time to upgrade. Don’t ask me I just work here, read the rest of that article here.
The two U.S. officials later told FOX News that the Taepodong-2 was the third rocket to go up. It failed 35 seconds after launch. A Defense Department official said the U.S. took no action because the missiles posed no threat to the United States or its interests.
The target could have hit Japan, South Korea, Alaska, or Hawaii. Which are not any of the U.S. intrests? THEN WHY THE FUCK AM I IN KOREA NOW YOU ASS WIPES?!?!? There are U.S. Forces on all of those places I just mentioned and they are not in your interests? Send me home or send me to war…, just don’t keep me waiting.

In all seriousness, I belief that N.K. is afraid of an anti-communist world and wants their life to remain the same way it has been for years. They should have every right to build up a defense and do what is necessary according to them to feel safe. If they think nuclear is the answer then so be as long as they don’t blow themselves up and take some of us with them, who cares. However the second they use any of their new gained power for any other means then defense I feel then and only then shall we intervene. The U.S. needs to stop trying to be the saviors of the world. We occupy more countries than I can count and have almost as many wars that we are trying to fight. Maybe Germany had Hitler, Nazi’s, and the Holocaust but does that deem every German psychotic to the point that we need to interfere? Especially 50+ years after the fact? I would call that stereotyping and not only morally, but legally incorrect.
I am not complaining about the Army, I am actually enjoying my time doing my part. I just don’t feel 90% of those enlisted should spend more than half of their enlistment overseas.
